Here's How to Celebrate World Book Day in Style

World Book Day is fast approaching and if you're a parent or teacher (or you simply can't get enough of books) then you'll be counting down the days to March 1st. This annual celebration of reading gets bigger every year and always brings out creative and imaginative ways to pay homage to our favourite authors and illustrators.

Now in its 21st year, did you know that World Book Day is marked in more than 100 countries across the globe? We think that's pretty impressive and so here at Euro Costumes we thought we'd share a few World Book Day fancy dress ideas to help your child get involved.
Children's favourite authors
Roald Dahl is one of the world's best loved children's authors, with stories translated into 59 languages and estimated global sales of more than 200 million. Whether you're a fan of Matilda, The BFG or Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, we've got plenty of fancy dress costumes to choose from this World Book Day.

Why not try our Charlie Bucket costume on for size? With top and trousers, it also includes (of course) a golden ticket. We also stock Willy Wonka and Miss Trunchbull fancy dress outfits in junior and adult sizes so whatever your age, you can still take part in the fun.

Thanks to his adventure-packed laugh out loud tales, David Walliams has become another firm favourite with younger readers. Do you love the amusing antics of Awful Auntie? Take a look at our deluxe costume, complete with top, trousers, hat, gloves and owl!

Classic children's fiction is another great source of ideas, with characters from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland
Horrible Histories fancy dress

History buffs can take a step back in time with our Henry VIII or Boudica costumes - both perfect for World Book Day. Alternatively, return to the days of Ancient Egypt with our Cleopatra fancy dress, which includes a white dress with pink and white detail, belt and cape.
Children's classic tales

Folk tales and legends provide plenty of inspiration when it comes to World Book Day. People's hero Robin Hood is a larger-than-life figure in popular culture, while the origins of Little Red Riding Hood can be traced back as far as the 10th Century. Our Little Red Riding Hood costume includes a dress with attached apron, ribbon detail to the bodice and a red hood. And if you don't want your littlest ones to miss out on the excitement, we also stock a Little Red Riding Hood costume for toddlers, as well as lots more choice for tiny tots.
Cartoon capers

While World Book Day may be about celebrating, well, books, that doesn't mean comic characters and superheroes shouldn't get a look in - especially if it encourages youngsters to enjoy the written word in all its forms. Try our red and white muscle superhero costume or fun Spider Boy outfit - perfect for comic book fans.
